Item Description

A sharp, well-formed, richly colored "sixling" twin of Alexandrite from Gwelo (labeled Owelo originally) with attached schist. The color is a rich chrome green in indoor lighting and it's complete nearly all the way around. A hard to find thumbnail example of this elusive material from Zimbabwe. The Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#2960). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
