Item Description

Beautiful blue colored radiating groups of Chrysocolla are gently coated by drusy / "sugary" Quartz not unlike the specimens from various localities in Arizona like Globe, Ray or Bisbee. The rest of the specimen features attractive green Malachite intermixed with the black host rock matrix. I've only seen massive "chunks" of Chrysocolla from this locaity, so a piece like this with defined "balls" of Chrysocolla is rare. Classic material from Miedzianka (Kupferberg), and virtually impossible to find on the market. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#1793). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
