Item Description

This is a classic and eye-catching example of what is commonly referred to as Gem Silica. The beautiful color of this material is due to the Chrysocolla (a copper-bearing silicate mineral), which is often found as micro inclusions inside of cryptocrystalline Quartz (Chalcedony). These stones can range typically from opaque or translucent, but you will see gem quality stones of this material. This stone has a lovely bright greenish-blue color, with an "Emerald" cut form the famous Miami area in Arizona (likely the Inspiration Pit). This is a wonderful gem to add to any collection, and you can use this material quite easily in jewelry.
