Item Description

Here we have a very attractive stone of what is commonly referred to as Gem Silica in the trade. These gems get their intense blue color from Chrysocolla (a copper-bearing silicate mineral), which is often found as micro inclusions inside of cryptocrystalline Quartz (Chalcedony). These stones can range typically from opaque or translucent, but you will see gem quality stones of this material every now and then. This stone has a vibrant blue color, with a "Round Cabochon" cut form the famous Miami area in Arizona (likely the Inspiration Pit). This is a wonderful gem to add to any collection, and you can use this material quite easily in jewelry.
