Item Description

A dramatically sculptural and outstanding thumbnail cluster of chrysocolla after opposing sharp azurite (some say gypsum) crystals from the famous Ray Mine. This piece is from the well-known 1976 and 1977 finds and is an outstanding 360-degree example of this rare and highly desirable Azrizona pseudomorph. Moore's Compendium of Mineral Discoveries (1916) states on Page 400 of Volume I states: "these dramatically colored pseudomorph groups, which have not been found again, should probably be considered the world's best collector specimens of chrysocolla." Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 10249 and acquired from the Filer's at the Tucson Show in 1984. Valued at $300-500.
