Item Description

A showy and classic combination specimen from this well-known Australian copper mine. This piece is a double pseudomorph. Colorful chrysocolla has replaced numerous, well-placed rosettes of malachite that were themselves pseudomorphing azurite blades, all sitting on goethite matrix. The pseudos and matrix are richly sprinkled with famous for the locale, bipyramidal and tabular "gem" wulfenite crystals. These replacements were always more uncommon, and came out over 20 years ago (maybe others can give me better info, but I believe it was in the early 1980s). This is one of the better rosette clusters with wulfenite (uncommon in this combination quality) we have seen on the market, and its both aesthetic and in good shape as well.
