Item Description

The famous 79 Mine in Arizona has been the source of the really fine quality, attractive and iconic mineral specimens in the modern era of mineral collecting. This piece features gorgeous rich blue-green to olive-green colored Chrysocolla which has formed pseudomorphs after preexisting Hemimorphite crystals on matrix. For Arizona minerals this specific type of pseudomorph is unique to the 79 Mine, as I've never it from any other mine in Arizona. Very attractive up close, and really good quality for what it is. If you collect secondary ore mineral, pseudomorphs or minerals of Arizona, don't miss out on this one as they are rarely available on the market today. Ex Kay Robertson Collection #12007) with a great old label from Scott Williams. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
