Item Description

An interesting and attractive multi-generational specimen from "Miami, Arizona" according to the label. The information on the label states that this is soft greenish colored Chrysocolla (?) which has partially replaced Malachite which has pseudomorphed after Azurite, so there are three stages of mineralization taking place here. Several of the crytals still retain sharp blocky form and the piece is in good shape overall. You can see a small amount of preexisting Malachite in the center of one broken edge of the periphery. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#8794). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
