Item Description

A lovely example of these distinctive and limited specimens from Luputo. This is a beautiful specimen of featuring micro stalactitic "finger"-shaped groups of beautiful turquoise blue Chrysocolla which has overgrown pseudomorphs of Malachite replacing Azurite after Malachite on / over gossan matrix. These specimens (mined in 2015) from Luputo are such attractive and desirable pieces based upon not only the fantastic color, but the fact that there are at least THREE generations of mineralization here. Initially the piece consisted of prismatic Azurite crystals, which were replaced by Malachite, and then a final generation of Chrysocolla came over the top. When viewed up close, the piece is gorgeous and it's rare to see free-standing, Chrysocolla from any locality like this. This piece is certainly worthwhile for any copper species collector or a collector of colorful species.
