Item Description

A attractive fibrous group of soft tan colored Chrysotile ("Asbestos") from an undisclosed locality in Arizona. It's likely from the Salt River Canyon locality in Gila County, but I can't be certain. With that said, the piece is a good quality example of the material, and certainly a worthwhile add to a collection of Arizona minerals or U.S. minerals. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#569). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
