Item Description

A rarely seen specimen from this lesser known old lead mine in Spain, which has produced beautiful secondary micro material for collectors. This piece is an attractive toenail sized specimen featuring intense red colored Cinnabar included inside of gemmy white/colorless Gypsum, along with minor Quartz. The piece looks great under magnification. These specimens are quite difficult to find on the market, and although Cinnabar and Gypsum are not necessarily rare minerals, to find the two together in this manner is fairly rare.
From the collection of David E Ziga, a geologist who graduated Miami (of Ohio) University in 2017, with a mineralogy background. Specimen #52.
