Citrine (natural color - untreated)

This a very attractive large Citrine gem from Brazil with a beautiful "Modified Elongated Round Radiant" cut. This stone has a soft straw yellow color and is nearly eye-clean in clarity. I have not seen many natural Citrine gems from Brazil like this one, and I have to say that this stone is gorgeous in person. Citrine may be well known among gem dealers and collectors, but the majority of the material on the market has been heated / treated to enhance or even CREATE the yellow color, but THIS stone is 100% natural and completely untreated. Do not miss out on this very good sized, eye-catching Citrine stone. Legitimately, this is stone retails for nearly $1200 (roughly $100 per carat high retail), and you will be hard pressed to find another like it.
This stone is from the estate of former Phoenix area dealer Marvin Rockey. Rockey's Gems was a significant business in the early days of Arizona lapidary material, and he was a prominent dealer and buyer in the Arizona area of local lapidary and carving material from throughout the state, including Bisbee, the Ray Mine, Miami mines, and the Peridot finds on Indian lands in the 1950s-1970s. This stone was kept back from the retail stock for its quality and beauty, in a tray of special material, and was found in his estate (sold to us only recently). Today, these are not only rarely seen but of a highly desirable old quality, and sought after by collectors and gem / jewelry enthusiasts alike.
