Item Description

An outstanding and dramatic FLOATER fluorite specimen from the famed Cave-in-Rock area of Southern Illinois. These lustrous, translucent, color-zoned crystals have the classic sky-blue cores with vivid outer bands of dark purple. The backlit photo highlight the distinctive and gorgeous color zoning. The frosted, with some striking stepped faces really add character. The stepped-growth base is peppered with shiny chalcopyrites. This very fine piece is nearly pristine, with only trivial edge wear. Thats a bit of gray tack on one corner. A worthy and classic Illinois fluorite. Ex Larry Krause dealer stock and seldom available in this floater quality.
