Item Description

A RARE locality specimen! I've actually never seen a piece from this locality (which is actually the type locality for Shuiskite) in person. This piece is a gorgeous small miniature featuring intense purple colored, GEMMY groups of Clinochlore measuring up to 3 mm which get their color for chromium content sitting on black Chromite matrix. This material was previously called "Kammererite", and was a valid species for years. Now it's simply Chromian Clinochlore, but a lot of people still refer to it as Kammererite. If you collect hard to find locality pieces, Russian minerals or worldwide C Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#10668). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
