Item Description

Years ago, Kammererite was a valid mineral species, but it is now classified as a chromium-bearing variety of the Chlorite Group species, Clinochlore. With that said, a lot of people still call it Kammererite. This is one of those minerals that has one of the most alluring colors in the mineral world. Maybe Roselite and Erythrite have similar color, but this amazing strong purplish-pink hue is one the most recognizable colors out there. This piece is a good specimen featuring of sharp, lustrous, GEMMY, rich purplish monoclinic crystals measuring up to 7 mm on matrix. Minor roughness, so the piece is not pristine, but still attractive and the two larger crystals GLOW with color when backlit. Please note that this piece is from the Pembe Güle Mine, and not the more common Krop Krom locality, which is an important distinction in my mind.
