Item Description
Please Note: This piece came labeled as Clinoclase from Majuba Hill, but I'm not convinced that it's actually Clinocloase. The color is completely wrong as Clinoclase from this mine is a rich electric blue, and this if a much softer turquoise blue. The crystals have an almost micaceous appearance, which doesn't look like any Clinoclase I've seen. I honestly looked through hundreds of photos of specimens from this locality, and I can't honestly find anything that matches this piece in terms of optical matches. If anybody out there knows the identity of this piece - either species or locality - please let us know. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#11298). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
