Item Description

Small, glistening pale golden colored crystals of the rare zeolite species Clinoptilolite associated with white fibrous Mordenite inside of an opened "Thunder Egg" from Succor Creek, Oregon. This mineral visually is nearly identical to Heulandite, but it's been confirmed as Clinoptiloite. Beautiful to view up close. Classic material, and some of the most well-known Clinoptiolites from the United States. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#6931). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
