Item Description

The classic Brazil Lake locality in the Espanola-Whitefish Falls Area of Ontario has produced some of the finest crystals of Cobaltite outside of Sweden. These crystals are notably sharp, well-formed / euhedral and are often on matrix. This piece is a very good example of these now hard to find specimens featuring attractive, steel-grey colored cubic crystals measuring up to 7 mm sitting on greenish-grey colored actinolite amphibolite matrix. There are some rough spots, so the crystals are not all damage free, but you almost never see these pieces on the market anymore, and any fan of sulfide minerals, or minerals of Canada should have one of these in their collections.
