Color Change Garnet

Garnets come in virtually every color of the rainbow. I've seen Garnets in all shades including the incredibly hard to find true blue color. Some of the most highly sought after and attractive Garnets out there are the color change stones from East Africa. This material is probably a mix of Spessartine and Grossular. The gem has a very attractive greenish-golden color in indoor lighting, and changes to a orange-gold color halogen lighting. This color change is very difficult to find in most gemstones. Most color change stones actually only show a color "shift", which means they really don't change color strongly i.e., from blue to purple. The cut on this stone is an "Oval Brilliant" cut. The stone is virtually eye clean. A highly valued gem on the market today.
