Garnets are incredibly popular in the gem world among collectors, dealers and jewelers because they occur in virtually every color of the rainbow. In addition to the wide range of colors, there are also incredibly rare COLOR CHANGE Garnets which will show different colors depending upon the temperature of the light under which they are viewed. Some of the best examples of these stones are those from East Africa. This material is probably a mix of two or more Garnet species, as testing is showing that they very few of them are purely a single species. The gem has a very attractive light golden-peach color in indoor lighting, and changes to a pink color (with a slight mauve overtone) in sunlight. This color change is very difficult to find in most gemstones and is highly desirable. The cut on this stone is an "Oval Brilliant" cut. The stone is virtually eye clean. A highly valued gem on the market today.
