Item Description

A rare, large, sculptural and excellent combination piece, from an obscure Mapimi locale, that has only been producing specimens since 2011 (according to MINDAT). Lustrous, translucent, color-zoned fluorite cubes to 1.5 cm are the focal point of the front of this showy piece. The lightly frosted cubes have pretty purple interiors with colorless outer zones. Some of the cubes have a light iron oxide coating. The backside hosts a rich covering of tiny, colorless, cubic fluorite clusters, numerous clusters of white barite blades to 7 mm and scattered about are tiny clusters of quartz points. This rare and excellent combination piece displays very well, without aid, from either side and with strikingly different minerals. The front is pristine. Moderate purple fluorescence. Valued at $500.
