Item Description

Fluorite specimens from this classic French locale are now difficult to find, as the mine closed in 1977. This very striking CABINET cluster of cubes is composed of a RARE color-zoned combination, olive-green to golden-amber crystals with beautiful teal-blue color zoning. The translucent crystals are highlighted by a fabulous, water-clear, GEM corner. The pretty teal-blue color zoning and interior refractions are really accentuated in this glassy area. A corner cleave on the major crystal is noted here, but overall this is still a showy and rare quality because The large basal cube is 8.8 x 7.2 cm, which is very large for the locale, and so you can forgive a little damage if the price is right. BONUS: SUPER purple fluorescence. Ex Howard Belsky Collection.
