Item Description

This arborescent, sculptural copper is form the native elemtns collection of Dr. Gene Meieran. It is a beautiful piece for the bright, brassy patina on the coppre (not removed by overcleaning!), and also for the elegant form. It is significant for the sharp and elongated copper crystals, characteristic of this mine in its heyday of the late 1800s and early 1900s. The piece can be displayed from several angles, and is equally impressive in mass from either...but I find it more elegant mounted like an inverted triangle and we can make a base for it to stand that way safely. A classic, important Michigan copper! I exchanged this from Gene several years ago and valued it at $2000 cost to me, $3000 value.
