Item Description

Mineral specimens of ANY species are RARE from the old copper mines of this area. Copper mining started in 1860 and continued until the end of World War II (MINDAT). This is a unique post-mining artifact of copper casting a piece of a tree branch. The outer shiny copper surface was the bark. The malachite on the concave inside adds much color pizzazz to the piece. A RARE and historical California post-mining artifact from the Dr. Barratt Phillips Collection.
