Item Description

A classic specimen of the famous and very hard to find Coppers from the Cashin Mine in southwestern Colorado. The specimens are rarely crystallized (mostly crystalline) but this piece is better than most I have seen as it is notably sculptural and not just a "lump", like others that I've handled in the past. The piece has a fine antique patina which is highlighted by gorgeous deep green oxidized areas of Malachite. A great piece for a native element collector, a Colorado collector or somebody who likes minerals from the United States. Valued in the inventory at $500. The Cashin Mine was finished 50 years ago (early 1970s), so don't miss out on this one as very few are available on the market today. This locality dates back to the late 1890s, and produced nearly two million pounds of Copper during its lifetime, though specimens are fairly obscure on the market.
