Item Description

Cottunite is a very rare lead halide that was first reported from Mt Vesuvius, Italy. This piece just happens to be from the type locality and features tiny gemmy silvery crystals of orthorhombic Cotunnite frozen in matrix. The piece actually fluoresces a vibrant pink hue under UV light. If you collect rare species, you need one of these in your collection, especially if you like to like species from the type locality.
