Item Description

Butte is famous for producing some of the most beautiful sulfides specimens from anywhere in the United States. You don't see nearly as many Butte Covellites on the market anymore, and they will always hold their own on a worldwide scale. Here we have an older, classic Covellite specimen from Butte. The piece hosts lustrous bladed/foliated iridescent blue-purple crystals on matrix. The periphery of the crystals are contacted, but the piece is still showy and displays well on its own without the aid of a base or clay. From the collection of J. A. Lorengo.
