Creedite on matrix

This specimen features 2 complete creedite clusters, 3 and 3.5 cm across and 360 degrees all around, perched on a real plate of matrix. Unusual! Creedite of orange color from this previously minor mine in Mexico is now justifiably famous and spread into collections worldwide, as a few thousand specimens came out through Mike New and his company TopGem in the early to mid 2000s from a single large section of the mine. The mine was then closed, or at least this portion of it was, and production has not been forthcoming for about a decade, since just after 2010 (approx.). Specimens today are more rare, or come from old stashes. We ourselves have a reserve of some boxes I bought long ago, put away for the future - but NEARLY ALL of them are simply floater balls of crystals, beautiful and amazing, but floater clusters without matrix. I have seen, in my life, perhaps 1 in 500 of these on matrix of any kind, and usually not on a nice matrix plate.
