Highly lustrous, partially gemmy, reddish-orange, crocoite crystals to 1.5 cm are richly and aesthetically festooned on three sides of the blocky gossan matrix on this very showy and highly representative specimen from the famous Adelaide Mine of Tasmania. The striking central vug hosts stout prisms to 3.3 x 1.2 cm. These crystals are sharp and have exceptional robust form and high luster! Excellent material from the from the Brent Lockhart Collection and acquired in 2001 from the personal collection of Frank Mihajlowits, an owner of the Adelaide. Valued $1200-1500 today. Comes with a custom-made and engraved lucite base valued at $150, for free.
