Item Description

The Huanzala Mine of Peru has arguably produced the world's finest pyrites and this specimen is an excellent example. Two, striking, intergrown, mirror-bright, brass-yellow, flat-topped, cuboctahedrons comprise this sculptural specimen. A very nifty feature of these octos are the unusual modified and striated crystal edges. The crystals look like Mayan pyramids. Highly representative and showy material, in large size and high quality. Valued $750. Ex Robert Nowakowski Collection.
