Item Description

First-rate pseudomorph of Cuprian Powellite after Molybdenite from the famous Jardiniera No. 1 Mine in Chile. These are extremely rare and were found only ONCE, and nothing found since (in the early 1990s). I am ot aware of this replacement from any other locale. There are two very well-defined 1 cm pseudos, as well as mnay drusy, sparkly dark olive-green micro-Powellites covering one side of the specimen. A nice bonus is a super-lustous .3 cm electric green blade of szenicsite to help prove where this came from (the type and only locale for that species) A great pseudo and combination piece, and also a killer thumbnail with a slight trim...certainly a unique piece, in any size. Compare the molybdenite habit to the moly crystal elsewhere in this auction. It is rendered with high fidelity, now, in powellite! Valued $750-950
