Item Description

An attractive classic thumbnail from the world famous Copper Queen Mine specimen featuring sharp, well-formed, lustrous, rich blood red colored octahedral crystals of Cuprite measuring up to about 4 mm free of matrix. It's quite a showy specimen and a lovely example of this classic material from one of the most well-known localities in the United States. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#7278) mounted in a Willard Perkin "Perky Box" display with his label. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
