Item Description

A beautiful old time specimen of the fibrous variety of Cuprite, Chalcotrichite from the famous Cole Shaft in Bisbee featuring brilliant metallic glowing red fibers which are associated with gorgeous sharp cubes of blood red Cuprite on oxidized matrix. You can see a bit of metallic native Copper on the specimen as well. The piece is best viewed under magnification, and we have photographed it with a Canon MP-E 65 mm macro lens to better illustrate the quality. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#401) with a great old label from Scott Williams. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
