Item Description

Here we have a great toenail / small miniature sized specimen from this sulfide deposit in Russia about 35 km from Kazakhstan border. This sharp cluster of sharp, lustrous, well-formed octahedral Cuprite crystals has a dark red patina on the surface, but with strong backlighting, some deep blood red areas suddenly appear within the crystals. Also note the very rare association of greenish-yellow Miersite, (a copper silver halide species which is only found in about a dozen localities worldwide), in clusters of small crystals in between the Cuprites. This is a unique and beautiful association to this locale. As a final bonus, there is tiny areas featuring crystallized Silver in other crevasses on the piece. This particular pocket was probably found in late 2010. Priced at $2,000 retail.
