Item Description

A rarely seen example of Mottramite (labeled originally as Cuprodescloizite) coating, thick tabular crystals of golden Wulfenite from the Glove Mine in Arizona. Nearly every bit of Wulfenite is coated by botryoidal, greenish-brown Mottramite. Some of the Mottramite groups appear to be "hollow" which leads me to believe that some of these crystals are actually casts after preexisting Wulfenite which is no longer present. The largest crystal group measures 1.4 cm. Good quality and RARE to see on the market, so if you collect Arizona minerals, don't miss out on this one as it in excellent condition and would make a great addition to any Arizona suite. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#1307). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Velt" November-December 2017).
