Item Description

Gorgeous, rich sky-blue and powder-blue tufts of acicular cyanotrichite crystals richly, dramatically and colorfully cover three sides of the large impressively sculptural well-prepared quartz-rich matrix. Cyanotrichite is an uncommon secondary copper mineral found sparsely in the oxidation zones of copper-bearing ore bodies (MINDAT). The Qinglong antimony-gold mine is better known for fluorite and stibnite specimens. This is a very beautiful specimen from recent 2018 finds in China, and is very highly representative and rich for the species and locality. Some specimens were found in the past, but not of this size. Purchased in China from new mining efforts, this is one of the larger. Rare in this size, richness and quality. These are considered as some of the finest examples of the uncommon species.
