Item Description

Documented specimens from the Bufa Mine at the well-known polymetallic skarn deposits at Charcas are very uncommon. This is a RARE and cute 360-degree hedgehog thumbnail spray of glassy danburite prisms. Rare malachite or chrysocolla blebs on one side are a super accessory. The few noted broken crystals are certainly only a modest detraction to this showy combination rarity. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 1448 and acquired from Scott Williams in the late 1950s. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017). Rare, old-time and excellent Charcas danburite.
