Item Description

This shapely and excellent colorless danburite crystal has a gemmy termination with a clay-included lower section. The faces are smooth and well-formed with a gentle luster and a classic "chisel-shaped" termination. A fine danburite crystal rivaling classic Charcas specimens. This is older Dal 'negorsk material, as the Danburitovyi Mine, an open pit, is now closed. You don't see many gemmy crystals of this material on the market these days. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#12244). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
