Item Description
Classic, old-time datolite from the locale and certainly 100 years old or older: Mint-green, very glassy, gemmy to translucent datolite crystals are densely intergrown on this showy and rich old-time small cabinet from these well-known Massachusetts basalt traprock quarries, that started in 1891. Crystals reach 3.2 cm on this piece. Bruising and periphery wear are noted, but this remains a highly representative and rich example from the noted locale. Ex Philadelphia Academy of Natural Sciences #22150 (1 of 3 pieces according to the former dealer's label).
