The famous Berg Aukas Mine of Namibia has produced the worlds finest descloizite specimens and this is a outstanding example. The columns of intergrown deiscloizite spearpoints wrap around the piece like a series of Stegosauras backbone plates! The crystals are very highly lustrous and partially gemmy! The crystals are a rich rust-red. Complete all-around and pristine, except for the attachment point on one end. This very fine piece is a super representative example of the species and famous locality, which closed in 1978. Outstanding material from the Jaime Bird Collection and his label dates to 1968 or earlier, when Namibia was still called South-West Africa. MUCH, MUCH BETTER IN PERSON!!!
