Item Description

Diamonds are obviously one of the most well known gemstones in the world. They occur in virtually every color of the rainbow (including black) and are prized for the extreme durability and fire. This particular piece is a Diamond crystal, not a facetted stone, and is very attractive in person. The crystal is a sharp, modified, whitish yellow color octahedran. The faces of the crystal are lustrous and well-formed, and the piece itself is actually very gemmy when held up to the light. A fantastic, good sized Diamond crystal that would make a wonderful addition to any collection, or might possibly be a match for a cut stone to create a wonderful rough and cut set! The fact that this is a genuine Russian Diamond makes a world of difference to me as it is not a contemporary African Diamond, but rather a classic "floater" crystal from one of the most prolific Diamond producing nations in the Northern Hemisphere. Valued at $1750 retail.
