Item Description

This 10.34 carat lustrous rounded slightly nubby gray-black piece does have two colorless gem areas. Possibly from the alluvial deposits at Elandskloof, Mpumalanga Province. Transvaal Province was dissolved 1994 at the end of apartheid and renamed into parts of four provinces. Undoubtedly older material with a fine provenance, having been in the Sorbonne Collection. Ex John Saul Collection (specialized in elements). A RARE stone from a very obscure locale and with great provenance.
