The most famous transparent examples of Diaspore are found in the Selçuk District in Turkey. To be honestly, Diaspore is not terribly rare in nature, but there are truly only a few places in the world, where fine GEM Diaspore is found. The Turkish material is certainly at the top of the mountain in terms of quality and quantity worldwide. Sometimes you'll see this material marketed under the trade name "Zultanite" or "Csarite", but it's all Diaspore. This stone is a lovely soft sandy-golden colored, "Pear" cut gem with virtually eye-clean clarity. It's hard to find good gem Diaspores today because the entire locality has been purchased as a large commercial operation, so the supply is under control by a single operator now.
