These Diaspore crystals are the standard for the species with their excellent color, size and gemminess. There was a time when these specimens were old classics, rarely seen on the market, but now, re-mining efforts for specimens here have produced a brief burst of this old gem material again. This piece is from the newer mining efforts, and is an impressive, GEMMY crystal with that classic light yellow-green color under incandescent lighting which shifts to more of a pinkish-yellow hue under halogen lighting. Large sections of the crystal are WATER CLEAR. Many Diaspore crystals from this locality are actually twinned, while this one is an un-twinned single, with no matrix. It's not completely damage free, as there is roughness around the edges, but if it were pristine, the price would be significantly higher. With that said, it's still valued at $1500 retail in our inventory. A very impressive, large example of these truly world-class Diaspores. Specimen weight is 57.50 grams.
