Item Description

Gem quality Diaspore is not only rare, but it's almost unheard of outside of the classic material from the Selcuk District in Turkey. This stone is a beautiful example of this material. It is has "flattened pear" or what I would call a "flattened briolette" with no "front" per se, as it's faceted the same way on each side. The stone has the typical soft straw yellow hue, with slight greenish-yellow highlights. There are a few thin "viels" that can be seen, but the stone is very good sized for the material, and would make a great addition to any rare gem suite. This stone is priced at $618.00 retail.
