Dioptase

Outstanding, very large cluster of lustrous, deep green Dioptase from the renowned Kaokoveld Mine in Namibia. The terminations are either etched or contacted by the roof of the pocket, and so look incomplete in terms of symmetry but this is not due to damage, per se; and nonetheless they are attractive with a secondary coating of lighter green dioptase on them. What makes this piece special, though, is the absolutely superb luster, rich, deep green color, and the sheer size of the Dioptase crystals, which range up to 3 cm in length. It is a huge, showy specimen with huge, showy crystals, and normally you cannot use those phrases with dioptase under five figures of $$$ signs.
