Item Description

A classic specimen of the famous Reneville Dioptases, which outside of Tsumeb are some of the most well-known examples of the species extant. Sharp, lustrous, rich emerald green trigonal prisms of Dioptase measuring up to 1.3 cm line the interior of this attractive small cabinet display specimen. No real damage that I can see with the naked eye. Valued at $750. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#12487). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record).
