Item Description

Dioptase from Tsumeb is world famous. This miniature features a large, 2.4 cm crystal displayed at one end perched aesthetically on matrix and is accompanied by two dozen smaller Dioptase crystals . IT IS VERY RARE TO SEE A CRYSTAL OF AN INCH OR MORE IN SIZE AND THIS STANDS STRAIGHT UP! . The big Dioptase crystal has textbook form. All the Dioptase crystals are glassy and translucent with a rich emerald green color and select faces are lightly sprinkled with fine, sugary Calcite crystals. All of the Dioptase crystals are loosely grouped or pretty well isolated and sit on a layer of very fine-grained, white Calcite along with a few tiny, totally isolated and gem Dioptase crystals. A wedge-shaped, variegated gray-brown, blue and green piece of matrix serves as the host these stunning Dioptase crystals. A fine display quality miniature from Tsumeb. Ex.
