Sparkling, gemmy and lustrous, rich emerald-green, dioptase crystals to 6 mm are festooned on the starkly contrasting, 3-dimensional matrix of glassy calcite rhombs on this excellent, classic and highly desirable combination specimen from the famous and now-closed Tsumeb Mine. These are very gemmy dioptase crystals, even for Tsumeb. A bit of modest bruising is noted, but this remains a very highly representative example of the sought-after combination species. Ex Howard Belsky Collection. Howard started as a mineral dealer at age 13 in 1972, became a sophisticated dealer and died tragically at age 28 in 1987.
