Item Description
A lovely small cabinet display specimen from the Pimbi hill prospects in Republic of the Congo featuring several very lustrous, deep emerald green colored, prismatic trigonal crystals of Dioptase measuring up to 2.0 cm, sitting on a matrix partially coated by turquoise blue colored Plancheite. Most of the crystals are in very good condition, though there are a few small rough spots. The piece is very showy and sits nicely on its own. There appears to be a partial overgrowth of black Goethite(?) on some of the Dioptase crystals, giving them an almost bi-colored appearance.
